We’re Nick and Kelly, your hosts, and we’re so glad you’re here. The Abiding Place has been a dream in our hearts for a long time.
Our love for Clear Lake began in childhood. Kelly’s great-grandma had a place here that the family visited often, creating memories that have spanned generations. Nick’s family camped at the State Park almost every summer for as long as he can remember. We have continued to visit often, now creating memories with our own family. Over the years, Clear Lake has always felt like a place of comfort, joy, and togetherness — and now we’re honored to share that with you.
We view The Abiding Place as a true blessing, and our hope is that it becomes a blessing to our guests as well. We want it to feel like a place that’s both restful and welcoming — somewhere you can relax, recharge, and create meaningful memories. And because let’s be honest… getaways with kids aren’t always relaxing — but they are always worth it.
As parents to three little ones, we’ve thoughtfully curated this home with families in mind, including the amenities we personally look for when we travel. You’ll find a crib, portable high chair, kids’ dishes and cups, toys, games, and a layout designed to make your stay easier and more comfortable.
Why “The Abiding Place”?
The name reflects our faith and the heart behind this home. To us, “abiding” speaks of remaining, resting, and dwelling in what truly matters. Our prayer is that this home feels like a peaceful refuge — a place to slow down, reconnect, and simply be. Whether you’re here for adventure or rest, we hope you experience comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging.
Thank you for considering The Abiding Place for your stay. We’d be honored to host you.
